Description
The dataset comprises 140 histological images of kidney, heart, and tendon tissues from rats and mice, stained with PicroSirius Red (PSR) and acquired using brightfield optical microscopy. The dataset was developed within the scope of a study on automatic collagen segmentation using supervised machine learning algorithms.The images are organized into training and test sets, following the methodology described in the associated master’s research. For each brightfield image, a corresponding gold standard image is provided, obtained from the binarization of polarized light images, representing the manually validated segmentation of collagen regions.This dataset offers a standardized and annotated resource for the development and validation of collagen segmentation and fibrosis quantification methods in biological tissues, supporting research in digital histology and machine learning-based biomedical image analysis.
