Description
This dataset contains the MATLAB processing scripts, CAD simulation files, and raw data outputs from Synopsys used for our publication in Journal of Lightwave Technology. The Matlab scripts are used to compute the effective birefringence for the included CAD files: a single anisotropic cell and for a cell-water suspension confined in the capillary channels of a photonic crystal fiber (PCF) structure. The MATLAB scripts read amplitude and phase information exported from the Synopsys RSoft FullWave software, and the scripts unwrap the phase components, and compute birefringence using either a retardance-based or linear phase-slope method. Users may directly reuse these scripts and CAD files for their own purposes or for replication. However, users should be warned that MATLAB adjustments to trimming regions, window selection, or fitting ranges may be necessary due to phase noise, monitor (detector) alignment within the simulation, and other numerical artifacts commonly associated with the finite-difference time-domain method. This dataset also includes field-animation scripts, raw data used for the original publication, and FullWave operation manual to support reproducibility and modification for future studies.
